What us students want to know are how to pay taxes, how to buy a house, drive a vehicle, cook good meals, laundry, how to take care of yourself, live by yourself in a city with no one to help you, how to take care of your own children, and how to go to university.
I feel that Im am learning almost everything right now, school, at home, friends, family. Even if I do not know bigger things like know how to drive a car I will learn that later in life.

The most important thing that a parent can do for a teenager is to give and have support. The reason why I chose support is because everyone needs support. To me support is to be there for someone when there having problems or they need to talk or even needing a ride to a friends house or needing money to go out. Support is to be there for someone about anything at all. Many things that parents can have for teenagers are rules, privligies, allowence, love, social, family, friends, fun, vacations, food, clothing, a good shelter, health, and most defnitley support.
What I think makes a great parent is proper training, and disipline. What I mean by proper training are good manners, know whats the difference between good and bad, wrong and right, have the abilility to trust your own children. To me trust is to let them stay home alone for a few hours, let them take out the skidoo, go out with friends and be home at your curfew and clean up after yourself.
What I think parents need to do for their children to become successful adults is to train their kids the correct way how to act, and to set good examples. Make them go to school and get good grades so they can make into university or college to get a good job and earn good enough money to have a good family.
Ted Talks ended up being a pretty fun project in the end. I found almost all of my research on the internet and a little bit of information from library books. I contacted a few people but of course no one really did get back to me so I didnt really get anything from that. I also searched youtube for poverty videos. From a few of the videos I watched, I learned some things and got research out of it. The pictures were all from Google and I went to technorati for some blogs.

For Ted Talks I chose to do the subject Poverty. Poverty in Africa is a world issue that many people are dieing from. I started learning about Poverty when we were reading the book the Outsiders and we had to do a project on it. When I started learning more about Poverty and hunger and malnutrition it started to feel concerned about it and ways I could stop poverty. Some of my ideas were to donate alot of money. That money could go to building a new school and we could also donate textbooks and pencils and school equipment to make the price a lot cheaper. Also clothing and other important needs could be donated. Food is another huge issue. Seeds can be planted which would be a lot cheaper to buy food and defnitley healthier.
The reason why I am so concerned abouty Poverty is because every 3.6 seconds a peron dies. Thats soo many people dieing each day and thats just in Africa. Imagine how many people are dieing across the whole world just from Poverty. All the leftovers you threw away yesterday could have helped a person live longer. Once a person gets sick they may not be able to go to work so they have to stay home. You end up with no money and when you have no money you cant buy any food. You will eventually get soo sick that you will die.
I learned so many things about Poverty. Not just one person can stop poverty but many of us can.

If I could put three aspects of culture into a box the three I would choose would have to be: traditions, food, and family. I have a few cultures. Some of them are Irish, a little bit of Ukrainian, English and Canadian. I have more but I dont know them.
To me a culture is showing you and your family where your past has come from. I think that its a huge group of people who share the same language, eat the same types of food and follow their religion and tradition.
I think you need to share and follow the same type of language, the food and the traditions of what your past used to believe.
I think that your culture can be boxed. Even if you havent lived your whole life of what your past used to do you can still follow their believes and religions of what they used to do. So yes I would say that you can box it.
I would want to save the the traditions in my family and carry it on because I remember every Christmas my grandma would make wild rice and we would all have to eat it. My grandma made it because thats what her mom used to to. Making a different type of food must have ran in my family.

In school our teacher has asked us to answer a few questions on our blog. Some of the questions are about success. To me success means to accomplish something that means a lot to you, your friends and your family. It’s like accomplishing a test in school that you have wanted to pass for so long and even buying a new car with your own money. I think that money is another success. I find that money buys you mostly everything that you need. When you go to school and graduate then you go to college to get a good job to earn good money. Defining success means to accomplish something big that means a lot to you.To me a successful life means living your dreams and having everything that means a lot to you and always getting what you want in life. You are achieving all your goals and setting a good example for people. Some people I would consider as being successful would be my family. I chose my family because they are all successful, they all have good jobs that get them good money and thats how I am raised. I am taught to go follow my dreams and get me where ever I end up happy.
