In chapters 11 and 12 a few main events happened.
-Randy came to see Pony and they talked.
-When Johnny died he told Ponyboy to stay gold and he gave him the copy Gone With The Wind.
- Ponyboy’s marks have been falling so his English teacher is making Pony write about a theme. Pony cant think of anything to write about.
-Soda Pop is getting really upset about Pony and Darry fighting about everything.
-Pony finally finished his homework for english and he wrote about his friend Johnny.
I think that chapters 11 and 12 were about fear. I think it is about fear because Johnny is scared and he keeps forgeting things like his homework and even he forgets to put on his shoes. Ponyboy is acting like this because he lost 2 of his good friends and nothing is the same again. Pony is going through a really tough time right now because of his friends and family. Alot of people he knew wont talk to him anymore and people he doesnt know will come and talk to him about what happened.
I dont blame Pony for being scared and forgetful after what happened. He has a right to be scared after everything that has happened.
I really like the book because it sounds so real that you can get right into it. I think that the author has done a good job writing the book. What I like about the book is how she actually talked about the characters so we can picture them in our minds and see how they look.

Chapters 9 and 10
In chapters 9 and 10, a few main events happened.
- Darry, Steve, Two-Bit, Soda, and Ponyboy were getting ready for the rumble.
- Darry wasn’t going to let Ponyboy go in the rumble because he wasn’t healed up and Darry didn’t want him to get hurt.
- The rumble started and the first people to run away would lose. Dally ended up showing up for the rumble.
- The greasers ended up winning because the socs ran and got into their vehicles and left.
- Dally and Ponyboy went to see Johnny at the hospital and Dally told Johnny that they won the rumble and Johnny told Ponyboy to stay gold and with that Johnny died. Johnny wanted Ponyboy to have the magazine called “Gone with the Wind”.
- When Johnny died Dally went crazy and left the hospital. Ponyboy went home and saw the rest of the gang sitting in the living room all bandaged up and bruised. Ponyboy told them all that Dally went crazy and that Johnny died.
- The phone rang and it was Dally saying that he robbed a grocery store and the cops were after him. Dally got shot by the cops.
- Ponyboy fainted and he woke up a few days later and fell back to sleep with Soda.I think that chapter 9 and 10 were about friendship because as soon as the rumble was over Ponyboy and Dally ran to the hospital to tell Johnny that they won the rumble because Johnny wanted to know. Johnny gave Pony a magazine, Gone With The Wind and Pony was really upset that Johnny died. Dally was also really upset. When Dally died too everyone was very upset and sad. All of them were good friends and really cared about Johnny and Dally.

The Outsiders: Chapters 7&8
Here are some of the main events that happened in chapters seven and eight.
- Johnny and Dally are in the hospital.
- A whole bunch of police and reporters are at the hospital questioning Ponyboy.
- The doctor told Soda, Ponyboy, and Darry that Dally would be ok and should be out of the hospital in 2-3 days. Johnny had a broken back, he was in severe shock and was suffering from third-degree burns. Johnny also couldn’t feel the burns below his waist.
- Soda, Ponyboy and Darry might get separated from each other.
- Darry and Soda had to go to work so Two-Bit took care of Pony. They both went to Tastee Freez to buy drinks and a snack.
- Randy talked to Ponyboy about his life and about Bob. He told Ponyboy that he might take off before the rumble tonight because he doesn’t want to fight and that he was sick and tired of all the fighting.
I like this chapter because there’s nothing big going on in it. I think that these chapters have to do a lot with survival because Johnny and Dally are fighting for their lives. Johnny might die and everyone is pretty upset because Johnny was like a brother to everyone and everyone got along with Johnny and the only way everyone did get along was if Johnny was there. Dally was also friends with everyone but he wasn’t that close to Ponyboy as Johnny is.

The Outsiders: Chapters 5&6
In chapters 5 and 6 a few main events happened.
-Johnny went to get groceries for him and Ponyboy to survive for the week.
-Dally came to see Johnny and Ponyboy. Dally took them to a restraunt for food.
-They got back and the old church where Pony Boy and Johnny were staying and the church was on fire.
- There was a school picnic and some little kids were trapped inside the old church while it was on fire.
- Ponyboy and Johnny ran into the fire to help save the children. They both got the children out of the church by picking them up and letting them out the window but the roof was caving in as they were getting out. Ponyboy got out ok but Johnny was still in there.
- Dally went in the church to save Johnny and Dally and Johnny are both in the hospital.
I really like this chapter because Johnny, Dally, and Ponboy saved some little kids lives. I think this chapter has to do alot with heroism. Heroism means to be a hero at saving peoples lives or doing a good deed. For Johnny to kill one of the Socs he ended up being a hero in the end. What I think is going to happen in the next chapter is Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally are going to be ok and alot of bad things are going to happen to the greasers because Bob died.
